A bit about owner Jon
Le Castel is owned by Jon Barnsley, who used to be Travel Editor and Showbiz Editor of a UK national newspaper. He spent 25 years of his journalistic career staying at top hotels around the world. Then, in 2004 he opted out of the rat race and created Le Castel. He hopes he has learnt from the successes and failures of hotels he has reviewed around the world.
Jon tries to combine elements of boutique and country house hotels with the friendliness of a guest house.
Please remember that the services of a guest house can sometimes be better than a hotel, sometimes different to a hotel and sometimes more limited.
